MOLLY NILSSON (Sweden)
One of the most unique voices in modern synth-pop returns to Australia
Molly Nilsson, the Swedish-born, Berlin-based artist known for her atmospheric, synth-driven soundscapes and emotionally charged lyrics, is heading to Australia for a highly anticipated tour in 2025.
Nilsson is a true lifer: fiercely principled, prolific, and committed to the DIY ethos. From her Berlin bedroom studio, she has self-recorded and released 11 full-length LPs over 16 years—all via her artist-owned imprint, Dark Skies Association.
Her latest effort, Un-American Activities, released in collaboration with Glasgow-based label Night School and Dark Skies Association, marks something of a departure from the established working method that defined her discography.
“Nilsson wrote and recorded Un-American Activities in the former Los Angeles home of writer-activist Lion Feuchtwanger and his wife, Marta, who fled Nazi Germany only to face persecution in the United States during Joseph McCarthy’s second Red Scare. Heavy ideas, light melodies: that’s the approach here.” – Chris Richards, Washington Post
For the first time since 2019, Molly Nilsson is bringing her unforgettable live performance to Australia for a series of shows in February 2025.
