Forest Creek Fest is a matinee gathering of some of Victoria’s most exciting established and emerging singer-songwriters, sharing songs and stories in the round at the historic Theatre Royal. Presented by local indie label Forest Creek Records, this is the first in a new annual series designed to celebrate and elevate the unique voices shaping our folk and indie scenes.

Featuring Eliza Hull, Eliott, Benjamin Trillado, Sean Riley, and Angus Montaigne, the afternoon will unfold through intimate solo sets, including some debut performances of unreleased material, and reflections on the songwriting process — all delivered in a spirit of creative exchange and connection.

Adding another layer of richness to the day, the local community choir Forest Creek Folk — led by label founder James McGuffie — will be performing their unique, harmony-drenched renditions of songs by Fleet Foxes, Adrianne Lenker, Townes Van Zandt, The Staves, and Flyte. These expansive choral arrangements will beautifully complement the stripped-back artist sets, filling the space with warmth and collective voice.

It’s a relaxed, heartfelt celebration of songwriting, community, and creativity — for folk lovers, lyric heads, and anyone who enjoys hearing songs in their most human form.
