MIFF and NITV, supported by VicScreen, present four original and compelling short documentaries exploring Treaty as lived experience.

In these shorts, all from Victoria-based First Peoples writers and directors, the Wotjobaluk Nations’ underdog fight for recognition is explored; a dialogue with Senator Lidia Thorpe reveals insights into the personal impact of Treaty and sovereignty; dance floors are revealed as spaces of sovereignty, connection and liberation; and we encounter the intertwined lives of three women, each embodying a different stage of First Nations hope in Victoria’s fight for sovereignty.

Films in this package: Dya (Country) (dir. Tracey Rigney), Protest on the Dancefloor (dir. Talia Liddle), Queens To The Front (dir. Tammy Lee Rock) and Slow Hours (dir. Theo McMahon).
