The legendary Jon Spencer returns this Spring for his first Australian shows in a decade. Experience the underground NYC icon and primal rock ‘n’ roll preacher with his explosive new band as they rip through Spencer Sings The Hits, intersected with some Pussy Galore, helpings of the HITmakers, and immersed with Blues Explosion.
Since making his name with garage-noise band Pussy Galore in the early ‘80s, then over to Boss Hog, Heavy Trash, The HITmakers and the energetic vibes of the famous Blues Explosion, Jon Spencer is known for his reincarnations through blues, punk, rock, and a little bit of country. Always with style and never deviating from his now iconic guitar sounds and stage scrambles, which have been spat and splattered across albums and live shows around the world.
For his first Australian shows in ten years, Spencer returns to our neck of the woods with his new power trio made up of drummer Spider Bowman and bass player Kendall Wind.
This series of live shows will feature a bit of everything from Spencer’s storied career. This is music from across time – raw, dirty and delivered with the high-voltage energy only Jon Spencer can summon.
